Nami has over 26 years of experience in the realms of corporate advisory and strategic planning on corporate restructuring, market analysis and research in green economy and academia. Upon completing her studies in the United Kingdom, Nami went on to work with the Malaysian High Commission and Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC (previously known as Salomon Smith Barney) in London. Returning to Malaysia in 1994, she worked with Maju Holdings Sdn Bhd, a leading local conglomerate with notable business activities in construction, property, infrastructure, services and manufacturing. She then co-founded NJ Premier Planners Sdn Bhd, a company offering services in the areas of personal and corporate financial planning, investment, securities, insurance, pension plans and estate planning strategies.
In 2004, Nami’s journey in sustainability advocacy began. She attended the Strategic Orientation for Sustainable Development Conference in Vietnam which included the celebration of remarkable achievements in the economic, social and environmental fields by participating Southeast Asia countries. She found her calling. Aichmi Advisory & Services came into existence and Nami worked tirelessly in advocating the preservation of nature in development work. She worked closely with World Forum on Natural Capital, Natural Capital Coalition, Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) and actively participates in United Nation Environment Programme, Finance Initiative (UNEP FI).
Nami has a PhD. in Development Economics from London School of Economics & Political Science.
Suriati is a senior corporate executive with over 25 years of experience. She is known among her peers for her adaptability, flexibility and resilience in leading and undertaking organisational initiatives, particularly in public listed companies. Having received her Bachelor of Laws (Hon) degree from Manchester Metropolitan University, United Kingdom, she proceeded to attain her Master of Science in Business Leadership from Newcastle Business School, University of Northumbria, United Kingdom. She is also a qualified Company Secretary licensed by the Companies Commission of Malaysia.
Her expertise centres on the areas of legal advisory, corporate and strategic management, multidisciplinary organisational practices as well as corporate secretarial and governance. In the span of her career, Suriati has negotiated key agreements involving concessions, joint ventures, consultancies, divestments and acquisitions, as well as shares and land sales in various countries (India, United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Vietnam, Brunei, Australia and Malaysia).
Suriati continues to enhance the breath of her industry experiences and believes in sustainability and the need to keep the world safe from practices harmful to the environment. She seeks sustainable endeavours to make a difference in the quality of life around her and collaborates with experienced teams to create global disruptions, through innovative sustainable solutions, on how societies perceive pollution and green initiatives.
